The prep time on these oven chicken fajitas is only 10 minutes, and then the whole thing bakes up in the oven for 20 minutes. That makes this a fast and easy 30 minute meal with 20 minutes of hands-off time . They are so simple and my family always devours them. How to Make Chicken Fajitas in the Oven

Here is a brief overview of how these sheet pan chicken fajitas come together. Be sure to scroll to the recipe card at the bottom of the post for the full recipe including all measurements.

  1. Cut your chicken and veggies. Cut the chicken breasts into thin strips and dice the peppers and onion. Add them to a baking sheet lined with foil or parchment paper.
  2. Add the fajita seasoning. Either grab my recipe or a packet from the grocery store. Add a drizzle of olive oil and bit of lime juice and mix it all together.
  3. Bake the fajitas. Cook for 19 minutes or until chicken is cooked through and vegetables are tender.
  4. Serve and enjoy! Enjoy immediately with tortilla shells.

How to Serve Chicken Fajitas

Serve your fajita chicken and vegetable mix in warm tortillas. You can use flour or corn tortillas, whichever you prefer the flavor of. These fajitas are perfectly delicious without toppings, but if you want to add something here are some ideas:

  • Sour cream
  • Cilantro
  • Pico de Gallo
  • Sliced avocado or guacamole

Storing and Reheating Leftovers

Store any leftover fajita mixture in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days. Reheat only the portion you plan to eat in the microwave or oven until heated through. Always use your best discretion with leftovers.

  • 1 yellow bell pepper sliced
  • 1 red bell pepper sliced
  • 1 small red onion sliced
  • 3 tablespoons fajita seasoning (see note)
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon lime juice or the juice of a lime wedge (1/8 of a lime)
  • 12 small tortilla shells

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil or parchment paper. Add diced chicken, sliced peppers, and sliced onion. 1 pound boneless skinless chicken breasts, 1 yellow bell pepper, 1 red bell pepper, 1 small red onion
  • Sprinkle the fajita seasoning over the vegetables and chicken. 3 tablespoons fajita seasoning
  • Evenly spread the olive oil and lime juice over the vegetables and chicken and toss to combine. 3 tablespoons olive oil, 1 teaspoon lime juice
  • Cook for 15 to 20 minutes or until chicken is cooked through and vegetables are tender.
