This recipe for turkey sliders is an old one, but one that is well loved. I first came up with it as a way to use up leftover Thanksgiving turkey , but I’ve had more and more people over the years ask me if it is possible to make this sliders recipe with deli turkey meat instead.

I decided it would be best to show you these leftover turkey sliders can be a quick and easy weeknight dinner recipe that can be enjoyed all year long. The thing I like about making sliders is that they are so simple to make and you can change up the flavors really easily and make a completely different recipe.

These were great. A nice, easy mid-week meal that feeds a bunch of kids. Thank you!

How to Make Easy Turkey Sliders

Cut the Hawaiian Rolls in Half

Use a serrated knife to cut the slider buns in half and place the bottom half of the rolls in your baking dish. Add some ranch dressing .

Add Bacon and Turkey

It works best if the bacon is broken up so that the sliders are easier to cut after. Be sure your bacon is cooked. Then add a layer of sliced turkey.

Layer with Cheese

When I first made this recipe, I used shredded mozzarella. That also worked great! I just really love the combination of bacon, cheddar, and ranch.

Turkey Slider Variations

  • Change the meat. This is a great way to use leftover turkey , but deli turkey works just fine too. You could also use shredded chicken here.
  • Switch up the sauce. Add a little buffalo sauce to the ranch dressing before putting it on for a Buffalo Ranch vibe!
  • Mix up the cheese. Swap the cheddar for Swiss cheese or provolone cheese. If you leave out the ranch, and add a little melted butter to the bottom of the rolls, the become Turkey Bacon Swiss Sliders.
  • Layer in more flavor. Sauté some mushrooms and onions and throw them on there as well for an added layer of flavor.
  • Double down on the Thanksgiving flavors. Make turkey cranberry sliders by using cranberry sauce instead of ranch dressing.

Storing and Reheating Leftover Sliders

Store any leftover turkey and cheese sliders in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days. Reheat only the portion you plan to eat in the oven or air fryer until heated through.

What to Serve with Turkey Sliders

  • Potato Wedges: These are just three ingredients and they are always a huge hit.
  • Creamy Cucumber Salad: This refreshing salad is the perfect side for the sliders.
  • Easy Orzo Pasta Salad: This is a great way to work more veggies into your dinners.

Notes

  1. You can also make this recipe using turkey breast leftovers, for example at Thanksgiving. Substitute the deli meat with 2 cups of diced leftover turkey.
  2. I’ve also used mozzarella in this recipe and it was delicious.
  3. You do not need to use all 4 tablespoons of butter. Melt 4 tablespoons and brush on enough that the tops of the rolls are completely coated.
