Peach Syrup Ingredients

Just three ingredients are needed for this perfect peach syrup recipe! Be sure to scroll to the printable recipe card at the bottom of the post for the full list of ingredients and their measurements, and the directions.

  • Peaches: Ripe, juicy peaches give the syrup the best flavor and color. If fresh peaches aren’t in season or available, you can make this syrup with frozen peaches.
  • Sugar: Sweetens the syrup and helps it thicken as it cooks.
  • Water

How to Make Peach Syrup

Step 1: Boil the Peaches

Bring a small saucepan of water to a boil. Ensure that it has enough water to cover the peaches. Boil the peaches for 50 seconds.

Step 2: Put the Peaches in an Ice Bath

Use a slotted spoon to transfer the peaches to a large bowl of water and ice to cool.

Step 3: Peel and Dice the Peaches

When the peaches are cool enough to handle, remove them from the ice bath and peel off the skin. Dice the peaches, discarding the peel and pit.

Step 4: Cook the Peaches

Add the diced peaches, sugar, and water to a large stockpot and bring to a boil over medium-low heat, stirring regularly. Boil for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Step 5: Blend and Strain the Peach Mixture

Transfer the mixture to a blender and blend until smooth. Strain the syrup using a mesh strainer to remove the pulp. Enjoy!

Storing and Freezing Peach Syrup

Store homemade peach syrup in the refrigerator for up to a month in an airtight container or jar. You can also freeze peach syrup by leaving an inch of room in a freezer-safe container for it to expand, and storing in the freezer for up to three months. Allow to thaw before using.

If you are planning to use this peach syrup for cocktails, you can freeze it in ice cube trays to be added right to you drink.
