White Pizza Ingredients

Here is an overview of the simple ingredients that make up this amazing pizza bianca. Be sure to scroll to the recipe card at the bottom of the post for the full recipe, including a full list of ingredients and their measurements.

  • Pizza dough: Homemade or store-bought. I will always vouch for my homemade pizza dough because it is so easy to make, and the flavor and texture are perfect for homemade pizza recipes.
  • Ricotta cheese: We are ditching the traditional red sauce and using creamy, velvety ricotta cheese as the “sauce” for this pizza bianca. If your ricotta is extra wet, be sure to drain it before spreading it onto the pizza crust.
  • Mozzarella and Parmesan cheese: This combination of white cheeses adds a gooey, melty layer that is delicious. Use fresh mozzarella and Parmesan grated from a block for the best flavor and melting.
  • Thyme: Adds a subtle earthiness to the pizza.
  • Red pepper flakes: Add a kick of spice to balance the richness of the cheeses.
  • Arugula: Adding fresh arugula on top of your baked pizza gives it a fresh, slightly bitter bite that balances the creamy, cheesy base beautifully.

Storing and Reheating Leftovers

Store any leftover white pizza in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days. Reheat the portion you plan to eat in the air fryer, oven, or microwave until heated through. Always use your best discretion when reheating and eating leftovers.

What to Serve with White Pizza

  • Arugula Salad: Use the rest of the arugula you bought to make this light and delicious salad. It is perfection.
  • Bruschetta: This is such a classic appetizer for pizza night.
  • Tomato Soup: Make pizza night extra cozy with this simple and delicious soup. It is one of my very favorites.

Notes

  1. Look for a package of mozzarella that is listed “fresh mozzarella.” It has a different texture than a block of mozzarella. It will be a solid ball, and you then slice it very thin.
  2. I highly recommend buying a block of Parmesan cheese and shredding it for the best results.
